Colbar

Nestled away in one corner of Wessex Estate, Colbar serves up beer choices aplenty, with enough grub to satisfy a broad spectrum of food cravings.

Located at 9A Whitchurch Road, Wessex Estate, Colbar is an unpretentious place for gatherings.

We popped by one evening after a long day at work and we found ourselves within lush greenry, surrounded by the smell of cooked food and the muted laughter of their guests having a good time.

What to eat?
It serves everything from Chinese "Cze CChar" to English grub such as steak sandwich, fish & chips, pork chop and chicken cutlet.

What we had
2 cans of Boddingtons, 1 bottle of Fiddler's Elbow, a serving of Pork chops, Fish & Chips and Chicken Cutlet each.

Price we paid
Truth be told, you can probably find better tasting food in town for the same prices you pay. All in all, we paid about S$55.

Was it good?
The taste of what we ordered didn't exactly blow my senses away so there isn't much to rave about. I was told however, to try their curry dish because it was supposed to be tasty.

The only redeeming factor is the fact that they have malt vinegar that gives the chips a zesty oomph.

Would I go back?
Certainly! Not for the food specifically but for a nice cool beer on a lazy weekend, watching kids and dogs play under the trees while enjoying the occasion cool breeze that waft through.
